New Research Students

Undergraduates Madeleine Hunt, Justin Bye, Haley Pettenati, and Adam Baranik joined MS student Cole Hediger in the Castle group this year. While research has been slow because of COVID, we are looking forward to better days ahead this spring and summer!

One more year in the Arts & Sciences Dean’s Office

Professor Castle will be spending one more year (through July 2020) as Associate Dean of Faculty for the Natural Sciences and Mathematics while finishing up current research projects.  She will begin recruiting new research students for new projects in the spring of 2020.

New paper in ACS Earth and Space Chemistry

Lauren Eckermann, Conor Flynn, and I recently published a paper on self-quenching of the symmetric stretching mode of carbon dioxide in the new ACS Journal, Earth and Space Chemistry. This work was the basis of Conor’s MS thesis as well as Lauren’s honors thesis.

Professor Castle takes on Associate Dean position

In the fall of 2016, Professor Castle began a 3-year term as Associate Dean of Faculty for the Division of Natural Sciences and Mathematics, College of Arts & Sciences. She will continue to work on research projects with undergraduates during this term.
